Yahoo for Good

01 — Project Details

For Yahoomans everywhere.

With remote work more ubiquitous than ever, Yahoo wanted to rebrand its internal day of service as a celebration of its world-spanning employees.

Agency: TPD Design House

Scope: Event Naming, Taglines, Event Messaging

02 — Scope & Strategy

This project celebrated how Yahoo employees serve their communities, sparking connections across a global company.

I developed several names for Yahoo’s new day of service, with the team landing on the option Yahoo for Good.

From there I developed a tagline, mission statement, and ancillary messaging, including the term “Yahoomans” to describe employee volunteers.

03 — The Language of Yahoo

This project was an opportunity to work from established brand guidelines and craft messaging that fit into the world of Yahoo. I developed copy that felt friendly, quirky, and bright — but still informative.

04 — Messaging

Overview

Who Cares? Yahoo Cares.

Yahoo for Good connects employees from around the world for a day of giving back. Yahoomans from near and far will volunteer their time and talent to the causes that matter most to them.

From getting your hands dirty on a beach clean-up to being a code teacher for the day, this is the create-your-own-adventure of Yahoo events.

Join a project or start your own for a day of fun.

Mission Statement

It’s for the good of Yahoomankind.

Yahoo for Good is about giving Yahoomans something to yodel about, and it all starts with the power of coming together to give back. This day shows just how wide-reaching and impactful the Yahoo team can be, celebrating the humanity that connects us across the globe.

By choosing the causes close to our hearts, we see how much we already have in common. It’s a day to live boldly and shout for good.

This is how we help.

Values in Action

We build trust. Trust starts with authenticity. Want to spend the day at an animal shelter? Reading to kids? Building houses? We already know you'll pick the cause that stirs the most passion in you — and the community you serve will also feel it.

We bring joy. Behold, the joy of a clean place to live and play! Making parks, beaches, or other public places cleaner is a great way to make those who use them happier. Plus, it’s merrily approved by Mother Earth.

We create access. You know those skills you’re so psyched to have? The ones that got you jobs and joie de vivre? This is your chance to spread the love and up the access to groups interested in learning those skills, too.
